Dani the Vanara Monk

My streak of anthromorphic Pathfinder characters continues onward. First came a rat, then a lizard, and now a monkey. Yay.

This is Dani, (pronounced like "Danny") and he is a self-taught monk and traveler. Unlike most vanara, he was raised among other humanoids, rather than with the majority of his brethren in the jungles and trees, although this has allowed him to learn to read and gain knowledge most others like him do not have. (Living among humanoids also helped him discover he needed eyeglasses.) Growing up was not the best part of Dani's life, though - a rather abusive father and an inability to interact with others like himself at nearly all times helped Dani develop an interest in the monks at the local temples for their iron will, peaceful minds, and seemingly perfect talents. With a wish to attain such a calm mind and simultaneously prove to himself and those around him that he wasn't useless, Dani soon sought to learn the ways of these monks. However, he was unable to find anybody who could teach or train him, and so he began to devote hours every day to reading about monk lifestyles and training himself in private to become one. He may not be quite as disciplined as he should be, but years of training have made him seem like any other monk to most others. Dani's mind has improved over time, although he has yet to find absolute inner peace, which he believes he may finally attain through either helping others through their own struggles or finding the perfect place in the world to call home. Whichever the answer may be, he tries to do both at once, now traveling the roads with little more than the clothes on his back and stopping along the way at every chance he gets to help someone out.

Unfortunately, it may be a while before I get the chance to actually play Dani in a game of Pathfinder, considering Thiidda and Zyrro are both doing well for now, but as soon as an opportunity presents itself, I'll have Dani ready to go.
