Elver the Fehndu Swashbuckler

First things first: the fehndu are one of several custom races my Pathfinder-playing friends and I have started to work on, so no, it's not an "official" race. In all absolute shortness, it's a humanoid bird-beast race with statistics and traits fairly similar to the tengu race.

So this is Elver, and she's a swashbuckler, a rogue-like fighter who focuses on speed, accuracy, and wits rather than brute force. Similar to their tengu cousin race, the fehndu are often trained in their youth with either all types of swords, OR their choice of a number of rather exotic weapons. Elver trained with four of these "exotic" tools, and is very much a walking utility belt with some of them. Her society thrives as something akin to a monarchy, and she, coincidentally, is the granddaughter to its current head leader. While she does have a very fair and righteous personality, she can also be rather rebellious at times and try to take control of her future, the most predominant example being that she ran away from home before reaching adulthood, not wanting to struggle with a position of leadership and politics and the like in her future. At this point, she travels just about anywhere, wanting to see how the real world works and how people live outside her homeland. She still feels the natural call of responsibility and leadership held by most of her family from time to time, though, and thus will often find herself off questing for the sake of others in need or to right the wrongs of others. However, outside of such times, she tries to keep a low profile and avoid attention.

Elver also has a somewhat subconscious calling to the thought of sailing; it wouldn't be surprising if eventually she made her way to the shores of the oceans and took to a life on the water, far away from where her people might ever find her, and where she could travel anywhere else in the whole world. (I'd be pretty happy if ever I got her into a campaign over the ocean or something.) In the back of her mind though, she also prepares every day for the possibility that people from her homeland may find her and take her back. Until that day comes, though, if it ever does, Elver plans to keep running away from home and to anywhere else she can get.
