Mareth - Concept Doodles

So a friend started a random role-play and asked people to improvise and get something fun going. I threw in a skunk girl named Mareth and then decided I really liked her character, so here she is. I guess this is partially also the result of me wanting to draw some straight-up furries lately - you know, instead of attempting to draw animal characters with slightly altered skeletons standing upright and clothed, or instead of trying to create "new" alien species all the time that have an anthromorphic feel and look similar to one another. Screw it, here's a straight-up furry character.

Anyway, this is Mareth, a punky and slightly tomboy skunk girl. She likes working on technical and mechanical devices and piloting aerial / space vehicles, most especially her own personal, homey space shuttle, where she lives with a pet legitimate skunk named Venson. She also gets around on solid ground via a hoverbike with gyros on either end that can rotate into wheels and function as an "old-school" motorcycle. Despite not being very actively "girly" and even having an intense distaste toward make-up and perfumes, she does happily embrace some advantages of being female (with no unfairness or disrespect toward males intended). Beneath the slightly hardened exterior shell she usually puts on around strangers, though, she's also a geek who likes video games, and sometimes expresses a soft side for animals (and receiving free hugs).

Mareth is a freelance worker who often sides with a faction of freedom fighters currently in conflict with the empire which rules over her local galactic cluster. Freedom is her ultimate desire, and under the repressing empire, she strives to earn it for herself and all others.

That's about all I've got on her so far. I have no major plans with Mareth, really; she may just be a character for some stuff that I draw occasionally. I may draw more straight-up furries like her, because she was fun to work on.
