M3FF :: Zyk's Darkest HourZyk was paralyzed. He could not believe what he was seeing. This mewthree in front of him, whom he'd known since his creation, was suddenly gone, forever.
Time almost seemed to freeze as he watched her fall to the ground. He did not hear a thud when she hit it. He could not hear anything at all. He could not hear the men who had shot her with their lightning casters shouting to prepare another shot. Zyk stared at the body on the ground for what seemed like years before turning his gaze up and across the abandoned city around them, over toward his murderous hunters.
Zyk thought to himself,
These hunters were indeed creators. They had all dreamt of creating the ultimate being long ago, and had believed their goal to be achieved after a single experiment. They had been wrong, and had sought to perfect their flaws. They began the Mewthree Project in an attempt to fix every mistake they had made with their original creation. Her CatalystAs she walks through the maelstrom, the words trace upon the tips of her fingers and press into the stone. Every brick, every crack in the concrete, every crossed and angular stroke in reds and blacks and oranges. The drips of the gasoline pool around the base of her boots, slosh as she steps over the burst pipes and the rubble.
So much rubble. So little outcry. The silence of the city grates on her eardrums and the mantras she'd been forced to memorize. The Seers demanded they observe thirteen years of recitation before they attempt to weave their first World together.
But who other than the Seers can claim the incantations that knot the skeins they twist and pull on like reins hold fast? When have any of the Sisters recorded the visions they traced upon space-time and recited them, left them open for critique and discussion and debate?
